Garmin nuvi 2350 Review

There are so many Garmin nuvi devices to choose from and that can make it difficult for people to make a decision since you only need single GPS device for a single car and it always helps if you go for a device with more features. Your main limitation will be the price and the Garmin nuvi 2350 keeps the price in the low-end while throwing in some nifty features with one in particular that can save you a lot of trouble in the highway.

Design

The Garmin nuvi 2350 is like many of the standard GPS devices in Garmin's lineup so you do not have to worry about getting a cheap device that looks considerably different or cheaper than those GPS devices that cost over $200. You still get the 4.3-inch touchscreen display and you get the added bonus for being able to view the screen during any time of the day thanks to the sunlight-readable screen.

Interface

The interface is still very easy to learn so you can plan your first routes immediately by using the "Where To?" function that guides you through a small wizard that should be easy to comprehend. You also get the "View Map" icon once you are a seasoned user or prefer getting some additional data from the map and planning the route from there.

Switch the view to 3D mode if you want a better look of the map while driving. There is a car icon present to show that you are indeed driving but that can look incorrect if you are just walking. This is where its ability to change the icon to a person can be useful and visually pleasing. You do not have to constantly put your eyes on the screen constantly either because you can use your ears to pay attention to important turns during the route. Since it has text-to-speech, it will call out the names as well.

Navigation Features

The Garmin nuvi 2350 is the device to get if you want the cheapest possible device to have the full U.S., Canada, and Mexico maps. While it may not have any lifetime update features, it still has millions of points of interests that go under all sorts of significant categories so you should be able to find a key destination without much effort. If you are willing to spend a bit extra for additional content for your maps, you can try the cityXplorer content so you can get important details on public transportation like buses, subways, and trams.

It is also the most affordable GPS unit to have the lane assist with junction view. This feature can be used when you are driving in a highway and your planned route requires you to take a specific exit. It is common for exits to be missed just because you are on the wrong lane at the wrong time. What this feature does is that it guides you to the correct lane ahead of time using the display's 3D graphics so you will never miss that turn ever again no matter how unfamiliar the intersection is.

The ecoRoute function opens up the possibility for fuel-efficient routes. This lets you optimize the route in such a way that you know you will consume very little fuel which is perfect for saving money. It cleverly does this by using road speed data and vehicle acceleration information as a reference for each route. This makes up for the like of lifetime features since this requires no form of paid subscription.

It also features the full package of nüRoutes technology where the myTrends and trafficTrends features work together. The trafficTrends features are exclusive to the Garmin nuvi 2350 and higher-end devices where it examines the daytime traffic trends so it can calculate better routes.

The myTrends predictive routing feature can make predictions on your next destination. These predictions are fairly accurate as long as you save the most frequently visited destinations as "Favorites".

The Garmin nuvi 2350 has a $170 price tag which puts it in the middle of the Garmin nuvi 2300 and its variations. If maps and lane assists are very important, you can get a real kick out of this GPS device.

This model is also available as Garmin nuvi 2350LT (Lifetime Traffic Update) and
