Garmin nuvi 2360LMT Review
Car GPS devices are often seen by many as an "extra toy" that makes driving a lot more pleasant especially if
you are roaming around an unfamiliar city or town and wish to know your way around quickly. But with entry-level
GPS devices costing just about as much as a budget mobile phone, car GPS devices are more popular and consumers are
seeing more than just convenience benefits. In fact, the basic devices may leave you wanting more especially if you
see some high-end devices like the Garmin nuvi 2360LMT. While the price tag pulls this device away
from some of Garmin's audience, it sure packs a lot of power to the driver that wants to take GPS reliability to
another level.

Garmin nuvi 2360LMT GPS Navigator
Design
The design of this high-end device can be a bit deceiving because it looks like other Garmin devices in the 2300
series and even resembles some of the older units. But once you place the 4.3-inch display under
the sun, you will be surprised that you can still see the screen.
Interface
If you never used a Garmin GPS device before, the Garmin nuvi 2360LMT can still be a good start if you have the
budget. The "View Map" and "Where To?" icons will first catch your attention
because they are large and found on the home screen. The "Where To?" icon takes you through a very easy process in
creating a route while the "View Map" function is equally easy as it brings up a 2D or 3D map display revolving
around your current location. You get even more flexibility with this model because of its dual-orientation which
lets you rotate the device to portrait view thus creating a vertical interface and map view.
The Garmin nuvi 2360LMT also has built-in microphone which can accept speech commands. Every labeled icon can be
uttered out loud so you can literally navigate through the interface using your voice. You can even use it to power
up your device if it is sleeping.
Navigation Features
The Garmin nuvi 2360LMT is fully loaded with lifetime traffic and lifetime
maps updates so this device should last you a very long time. The device already has over 6 million
points of interests as well as map data in just about all parts of North America and you will
never have to worry about outdated content. You also do not have to worry about planning bad routes either because
the lifetime traffic updates make sure that your route won't land you into tough traffic situations. With the
trafficTrends feature that is powered by nüRoutes technology, you can also see when you will arrive to your
destination while also helping you plan better routes based on day to day traffic flow. If you optionally save some
of your favorite destinations to your "Favorites" area, you can let the myTrends feature guess
your next destination.
By default, the Garmin nuvi 2360LMT tries to come up with a very sufficient route so you can reach your
destination quickly and safely. However, these routes are not always friendly with your fuel and the
ecoRoute can solve that issue if it is a concern. This feature calculates the route differently by
using road speed data so it can determine how much fuel you can really save. To make these statistics more visible,
Garmin added a fuel usage tracker.
If your route points you to the highway, you can make use of the lane assist feature so you know when you need
to be in the right lane before making an exit turn. The junction view which is a part of this feature also helps in
showing up enlarged versions of the highway signs in a 3D perspective.
Extra Features
The Bluetooth wireless technology is integrated right into the device making hands-free calling
possible. All you need is a Bluetooth-enabled phone so you can pair the devices like you normally do with Bluetooth
units and then make your calls right away using Garmin's interface. It supports some of the basic convenient
features like one-touch dialing for contacts and quick contacting from the map if the point of interest has contact
number data. You can then speak to the microphone for hands-free talking and listen clearly on the speaker.
In a nutshell, the Garmin nuvi 2360LMT has it all and as long as you won't mind the 4.3-inch display, you
probably shouldn't mind the reasonable $260 price tag either. The lifetime features and diverse set of extras
really add value and life to this Garmin product.
