Garmin has always been strong in innovation and product development. They have up the game again with the
introduction of its new ‘nuvi 3700 series’. These new portable GPS devices looks totally
different from any you have seen before. They are slimmer, flatter and curvier and they make you just want to hold
them in your hands. Looks alone will sell this product! Garmin touts them as the thinnest Portable Navigation
Devices (PND) in the market.
There are currently 3 models in this series and the Garmin nuvi 3750 is the entry level model.
It comes with many new features, an award winning design and useful applications that go beyond
navigation.
It is pretty obvious that the new Garmin nuvi 3750 has its design influences from Apple’s hugely
popular iPhone. It has a totally flat 4.3” capacitive touchscreen, which is a first
in any Sat Nav device. The multi-touch glass display is housed in a handsome brushed metal casing. It is solidly
built and measures just 8.95mm (0.35") thick.
With Dual orientation capabilities you can use the nuvi 3750 either horizontally or vertically.
This makes it truly portable, allowing you to hold it in your hands like a phone. It also fits neatly in your
pocket or purse.
It comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery allowing for up to 4 hours of portable use.
New Features
Garmin has added a host of advanced navigation capabilities like nüRoute™ Technology that
includes trafficTrends™ and myTrends™:
With trafficTrends, the nüvi 3750 automatically learns daytime trends for traffic flow to
improve your routes and better predict estimated time of arrival based on time of day and day of week. You get
free updates every time you connect your device to myGarmin.
With myTrends, when you save your regular destinations in your “Favorites,” the nuvi
3750 will, over time, begin to figure out where you’re going even without your telling it! It provides time of
arrival and relevant traffic information. So whether you’re driving to and from work or a regularly scheduled
weekly event, your nuvi 3750 will help you get there on time.
The new capacitive touchscreen makes the nuvi 3750 function like an iPhone. You can slide,
pinch, and tap the screens with your fingers, just like an iPhone.
Navigation
The interface is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. Upon power up it greets you with 2 simple options:
"Where To?" and "View Map." Touch the color screen to easily look up addresses and services and get voice-prompted,
turn-by-turn directions that speak street names to your destination.
It comes preloaded with detailed City Navigator® NT street maps and nearly 6 million
POIs. And with HotFix® satellite prediction, the nuvi 3750 takes less time to calculate
your position.
You also have Lane Assist that helps to guide you to the correct lane to an approaching turn or
exit. This feature helps to make unfamiliar intersections and exits easy to navigate safely. It displays road signs
and junctions on your route along with arrows that indicate the proper lane for navigation.
The nuvi 3750 comes preloaded with comprehensive preloaded street maps coverage for USA, Canada and
Mexico.

Actual user review: • For me the nuvi 3750 was the perfect balance between features and price. I really wasn't interested in
the extra bells and whistles of the higher priced 3700 units so I was thrilled when I found this one. I'm
upgrading from a Nuvi 250 and the difference is a quantum leap. This is just a stunning device. It's got a
huge, beautiful display. The 3D display zooms in and out smoothly. It makes my old 250 look beyond primitive. I
was also shocked at how light and thin it is. The biggest improvement is that the charging is done from the
base, which means no more unplugging/plugging the cable when you want to take the unit with you. You simply pop
it out of the base and you're done. There are tons of interface improvements. My favorite is that you can
easily find out your latitude and longitude, nearest address, nearest intersection, as well as the nearest
location of emergency services. I've always found the interface on Garmin units to be vastly superior to other
competitors. I am thrilled with my purchase. - Stimpson (USA)
