Magellan Maestro 4370
Review
Magellan is one of the several GPS companies that made huge
contributions to the GPS navigation industry by helping regular
drivers realize how important it is to have a GPS device
mounted on every car dashboard. Before it was recognized as a
high-tech commodity, but now it is more viewed as a huge safety
measure that allows people to drive safely and quickly to their
destination. But the Magellan Maestro 4370 is
proving that it can meet all those objectives without letting
its high-tech guard down and more importantly without jacking
up the price.

Navigator
Design
All of the devices in the 4000 series emphasize on
widescreen displays and the 4.3
inch widescreen display that the Maestro 4370 has
should be enough to have a good view of their surroundings and
check out any nearby points of interests.
Features
The Magellan 4370 has a surprisingly large set of features
compared to the other models that make it more than just a size
improvement when compared to the 3000 series models. The user
interface sees a critical upgrade with the new
OneTouch menu which is really handy for making
shortcuts to all of the favorite destinations chosen by the
user. These destinations can include certain areas of the road
or specific points of interest. This makes route planning a lot
easier especially when the QuickSpell feature
gets into action because that feature is included as well
making it nearly impossible to make spelling mistakes when
searching for a destination.
The 4.3” widescreen display does more than display a big
picture because once the famous landmarks show up nearby, 3-D
rendering takes place to make these landmarks extremely easy to
recognize. In addition to the graphics improvements, audio
comes out strong too with the device speaking every street name
as a turn is made so the driver can be focused on the road. The
Live Traffic capability can make the journey
safer by planning routes ahead of time and making any changes
when there is any activity that may interfere with the
route.
Driving on the highway is also simplified as well because of
the Lane Assistance feature that assesses the
current route and notifies the driver which lane the driver
must be in. When off the road, the Pedestrian
mode can be used as well to navigate to a specific
destination on foot.
There are some other extras that make this device even more
worth the purchase like the Bluetooth
capability that allows hands-free interaction with any
Bluetooth-enabled phone. AAA members can also benefit with the
TourBook feature which aids in listing lodges
and restaurants that have special discounts and the
Roadside assistance which is handy during
critical situations where the car has a flat tire or suddenly
breaks down.
Bottom Line
The Magellan 4370 combines the ease of use to encourage
people that never used a GPS device before to give it a try and
the powerful features and performance that lets any user plan
routes with precision and safety in mind.
