TomTom GO 930T Review
The TomTom 930T brings all of TomTom's
early technological advancements together culminating in a
sleek device that is extremely user friendly. The 'T' in the
930T model number means that it is Traffic-Ready with included RDS-TMC
traffic receiver and a 1-year free subscription to RDS-TMC
traffic service.

TomTom GO 930T GPS
Navigator
Something new for this new range of TomTom's is the
"Enhanced Positioning Technology". The 930T contains some
onboard accelerometers and gravity sensors that help it figure
out where it's going even if you lose satellite signal for a
few minutes, which can be incredibly useful in cities with a
lot of tunnels or tall buildings. This and a host of other
interesting features are highlighted below.
Travel
Travel is made exceptionally easy, as you will have access
to up to the minute information. Since TomTom users get to contribute to the
data you can rest assured that your traveling will be super
easy. If you or else find that real life isn't in tune with
what the GPS finds it's easily fixed and then everyone gets
to benefit.
You can also get to where you need to go faster. That's
another benefit of everyone uploading their data through
TomTom. The IQ Routes technology keeps track of historical
information to help you get to your destination faster based on
real life events. It also takes into account the time of day
and the day of the week.
It's also helpful that you will learn short cuts that locals
use. Since there are so many TomTom users the chances are good
that there are some great shortcuts you can take that have
already been uploaded. Other travelers won't have this benefit,
and it really can save you a lot of time.
Traffic
Real-time traffic information across the US, using the most
accurate and up-to-date sources coupled with detailed incident
reports, delay times estimated, alternative routes proposed and
if enabled automatic rerouting will give you a taste of what it
is like when you own a TomTom 930T. It also provides accurate
real-time warnings about dangerous road conditions ahead (fog,
snow, ice and so on) anywhere in Europe, and the US. (TomTom
application version 6.0 or higher) The clear on-screen animated
or spoken traffic alerts as and when you want them. The smart
push technology which minimizes the amount of data needed to
update traffic information on your device. Smart subscription -
when you buy new maps, the Traffic service automatically
becomes available in those countries too.
Updated Maps
One thing that some people worry about when they purchase a
new GPS device is that it won't have the latest maps. This
isn't something you have to worry about since TomTom will give
you the latest version free at the TomTom Home site. The
Magellan Maestro models do not offer this service, and some
users are disappointed to find that they have an outdated
map.
Routing Engine
One of the best features of this TomTom is the IQ Routes.
These calculate your routes for you based on average speeds of
other TomTom users. That means you get accurate information
based on real usage and not just machine calculations.
Another great thing about this TomTom is that it's very
customizable. You can edit street names and points of interest
to fit your needs. This is another aspect that's real time.
Other users can make corrections that make it easier for
everyone to get where they need to go.
Summary
The TomTom GO 930T gets excellent reviews because it
has many advanced and well thought out features. Best of all,
it delivers on the promise to have good reception and up to
date maps. Users can definitely benefit from the collaborated
traffic and route information that make this GPS device second
to none.
