Interface

Along with the design, the interface gets an enhancement too and it is great news for new and old users alike. The main menu makes it easier to do common functions so you can plan a quick route or check out the surroundings in your current location just by touching a large icon. If you do not want to touch the device all the time to plan routes, you can also talk to the device and let its built-in voice recognition do the processing. It looks like TomTom wants to get serious with its competitor Garmin in terms of usability.

Navigation Features

The navigation features is what makes the VIA 1435TM feel like a classic device which is good because these technologies have proven to work even years before. A lot of people should be familiar with the IQ Routes technology that continues to make appearances for every TomTom car GPS device. Since it has a built-in microphone, you can answer that call and engage in a hands free conversation while you drive safely and stay focused.

What is surprising with this new GPS model is that TomTom keeps the price reasonably low at $220. You get a screen that is sharp and bright, convenient built-in mounting design, and superb built quality. The free lifetime and map updates are a big plus.
